Natural Learning Space

We have 8,000 square feet of learning space at Fairchild Nursery & Kindergarten. Working with our talented architect and designer, we have created purpose-built classrooms for children to experience the natural elements of wood, water, sand, and soil, planting gardens, sand and water tables, cooking and arts area and indoor playground.

Child-friendly Campus Design

From the early childhood research, it is evident that the learning environment for children plays a significant role in their development. At Fairchild, we have worked closely with early childhood experts, architects, designers and university researchers to ensure that our learning space provides every opportunity for children to imagine, discover, take risks, be curious, construct, ask questions, and explore their senses.

  • Natural Pod

    Fairchild has partnered with Natural Pod, a Canadian owned and operated company which is passionate about natural play. Natural Pod manufactures exclusively designed, environmentally sustainable wood products for play and educational environments for children.

    Every product Natural Pod designs and builds is a joint collaboration with educators, architects and designers. Products are natural, non-toxic and meet the highest environmental standards. Fairchild is outfitted with Natural Pod products, emphasizing our commitment to children and their learning environment.

Parent Support and Advisory Group

The School’s Parent Support and Advisory Group (PSAG) works throughout the school year to arrange community events to support parents, the school team, and enhance the provision of a quality learning environment for our children.

The PSAG plays an important role in the life of the school, helping to provide input and feedback to strengthen the home school partnership and aims to:

  • Advance the education and well being of the parents, teachers and students of the school by providing or assisting in the provision of activities for the school community;
  • Initiate, encourage and promote the interest and participation of the parents, students and teachers in community social or recreational events.

The PSAG is an informal group that operates as a PTA to promote home-school co-operation and parent education. All parents with a child enrolled in pre-nursery or kindergarten level classes are welcome to provide input and support the events organised and planned. No fees are due to be part of this group.
